Plateau United goalkeeper, Dele Ajiboye has expressed his disappointment following coach Gernot Rohr’s decision to drop him from the Super Eagles’ squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Ajiboye had been named in the Super Eagles 30-man provisional roster following his form at Plateau United.

The goalkeeper, however, is one of the five players that won’t be travelling to London for the friendly game against England at Wembley on Saturday.

“It’s nothing to dwell too much on. The coach had to pick 23 players from a list 30, so it’s obvious that some people will be dropped at the end of the day,” Ajiboye told CSN.

“Unfortunately, I was one of those that won’t be in Russia. I must admit it was painful but there will always be another World Cup.

“The most important thing is to keep working hard and hope for a brighter future.

“I believe in myself and will keep working hard to get back into the team in future.”

Lokomotiv Plovdiv defender, Stephen Eze, Kano Pillars’ striker, Junior Lokosa and Standard Liege midfielder, Uche Agbo were equally not selected in the 25-man group, while Moses Simon will travel with the team to London to undergo another medical examination.
