Official: Ex-Real Madrid Defender Who Has Pledged Future To Nigeria Released By Bolton

Bolton Wanderers have announced their retained list following the conclusion of the 2017-2018 season.

The Trotters write on their official webpage that ex-Spain U21 international of Nigerian descent Derik Osede will not be offered a new deal when his contract expires on June 30, 2018.

Born to a Nigerian father and Spanish mother, Osede arrived Bolton Wanderers in July 2015 after spending thirteen years with the youth teams of Real Madrid.

The central defender is credited with 71 appearances for The Wanderers in all competitions and netted two goals in three seasons.

He switched allegiance from Spain to Nigeria in 2015 but has never been invited to the Super Eagles.

Nigeria international Chinedu Obasi has also been informed that his services are no longer required; he is departing the club without making his competitive debut.

Lyn Oslo, Hoffenheim, AIK Solna and Shenzhen FC are the clubs the striker represented in the past.
