Everton have announced that manager Sam Allardyce has left the club.

The 63-year-old leaves the Toffees having taken over on 30 November 2017 following the departure of Ronald Koeman.

He took charge with Everton in 13th and led them to an eighth-place finish with nine wins, eight losses and seven draws.

Everton were the seventh Premier League club Allardyce has managed, a PL record. He had also been at Bolton Wanderers,Newcastle United, Blackburn Rovers, West Ham United, Sunderland and Crystal Palace.

"We have made the decision that, as part of our longer-term plan, we will be appointing a new manager this summer and will be commencing this process immediately," Professor Denise Barrett-Baxendale, who will become the club's chief executive on 1 June, told Everton's official website.

"Again, we'd like to place on record our sincere thanks to Sam for his work with us over the last few months and wish him well for the future."
