The rapper stopped by TMZ TV and shared information about what led to his hospitalization back in November 2016. He revealed that he got liposuction and was addicted to opioids after getting the procedure.
He said: "Two days before I was in the hospital, I was on opioids. I was addicted to opioids.”
Giving his reason for getting liposuction, Kanye said he just didn’t want anyone calling him fat like they did with his brother-in-law Rob Kardashian.
“I had plastic surgery because I was trying to look good for y’all,” he said. “I got liposuction because I didn’t want y’all to call me fat like y’all called Rob at the wedding and made him fly home before me and Kim got married. I didn’t want y’all to call me fat so I got liposuction.”
He said they gave him opoids following the surgery and he got so addicted to it that at a point he was taking up to seven pills a day.
“They gave me opioids, right? And I started taking two of them and then driving to work on the opioids,” he said.
He added that it was caused by “fear, stress, being controlled and manipulation.”
He then adds that he’s now in a better place.
“I think I’m in a stronger place than I ever was after the breakdown, or I like to say the breakthrough,” he said.
He adds: "I’m happy it happened. I’m happy to have gone to the other side and back."
