Napoli star Lorenzo Insigne has seemingly confirmed that Maurizio Sarri will be the next Chelsea boss in his latest interview.
Speculation has been rife that Roman Abramovich will sack Antonio Conte and replace him with the Napoli boss.
Sarri apparently talks with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis last week over his future, but it appears he has not yet decided where he will be next season.
“In life, everything comes to an end,” said Sarri after Napoli’s final game of the season.
“Sometimes it’s better to finish stories while they are good. When I arrived, the team had finished 24 points off the top. Now, we are four points behind.
“We have not reached the target, but the journey has been fantastic. Tomorrow I will talk to my family before anyone else.
“The (club) president needs a response quickly. I don’t think I could go to another Italian team immediately. The memory of Napoli would be too strong.”
Now, Insigne has added fuel to the fire by seemingly confirming that Sarri will be moving to Chelsea.
“If I sit on the Chelsea bench, I will be happy because he did well with Napoli and our football was appreciated by everyone,” he said.
“I wish him good luck and I hope he brings his mentality there.”
