Salah set to miss World Cup after picking up a shoulder injury



The shoulder injury Mohamed Salah sustained during Liverpool’s Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid on Saturday evening is ‘serious’, Liverpool manager, Jürgen Klopp confirmed.

Recall that The forward was forced from the field after 30 minutes having failed to recover from an earlier challenge with Sergio Ramos and later went to a local hospital in Kiev for assessment.


Klopp told his post-match press conference: “It’s a serious injury, a really serious injury.

“He is in the hospital for an X-ray. It’s either the collarbone or the shoulder itself. It doesn’t look good, that’s it.”

Liverpool lost 3-1 to Real Madrid, as Karim Benzema and double from Gareth Bale handed the victory. But Sadio Mane pulled scored a consolation just before Bale scored twice.

Salah is on the verge of missing the world Cup. The forward wad instrumental to Egypt qualification for the Mundial.
