Griezmann confirmed last Saturday that a decision would be made over the coming days

Atletico Madrid talisman Antoine Griezmann has revealed he will announce on Thursday what his future holds, on a television show.

Barcelona have been the leading club interested in the Frenchman after he enjoyed another stellar campaign under Diego Simeone in the Spanish capital.

And in true NBA style, which harks back to 2010 when LeBron James announced he would move to Miami Heat in a bizarre stunt live on television, Griezmann will reveal his future in the most dramatic of fashions.

In a teasing video which was tweeted by Movistar+, Griezmann said: 'You will be fed up by the comments that say if I leave, if I stay, how much they give me. But the truth is what I am going to say now.'

The show will be broadcast on Spanish TV station Cero at 9.15pm local time, which means it start at 8.15pm BST.

Gerard Pique, Barcelona's stalwart defender, wasted no time in replying to the tweet, saying he will be watching with popcorn in hand as the French superstar reveals his decision following a transfer saga which has rumbled on for almost a year.

It comes just two days after Atletico announced they had reached an agreement to sign fellow France international and Monaco winger Thomas Lemar, which fuelled reports of Griezmann's imminent exit.
The TV show will be broadcast on Spanish TV channel Cero and will be called 'The Decision'

Griezmann confirmed after France's final World Cup warm-up match last Saturday that a decision would be made over the coming days.

'It's good that you're taking an interest,' Griezmann said after France's 1-1 friendly draw with the USA.

'There's a week to go. I think we will find out this week.'

Griezmann joined Atletico in 2014 and still has four years remaining on his contract.

He has scored 112 goals in 209 appearances for the club, and claimed his first major honour by lifting the Europa League last month.
