Australia 1-2 France: Paul Pogba nets lucky winner as Griezmann strikes from spot kick courtesy VAR

France launch their 2018 World Cup campaign in Russia on Saturday morning with a Group C match against Australia.

Didier Deschamps men had to dug deep to beat the Soceroos in the opening game.

In the 55th minutes, Pogba plays in Mbappe and the striker appears to be brought down by Risdon. Antoine Griezmann struck the penalty to put the Les Blues in the lead.

Australia have been awarded a penalty for handball from Umtiti. Australia captain Jedinak converts the penalty in the 62 minutes.

France took the lead as Pogba is given the chance to shoot and his tame effort is deflected by an Australia defender, which sends the ball looping over the head of Ryan.
