Breaking: Buhari confesses Abiola was the winner of 1993 election, he apologizes to Nigerians

President Muhammadu Buhari has admitted that late MKO Abiola was the winner of the June 12 1993 presidential election.

Buhari returned from a two days trip from Morocco.

Buhari in a statement released via his Twitter handle apologized on behalf of the federal government to the family of the deceased.


The tweet read:

On behalf of the Federal Government, I tender the nation’s apology to the family of the Late MKO Abiola, who got the highest votes in the June 12, 1993 election; and to all those who lost their loved ones in the cause of the June 12 struggle.
