Fabian Delph is returning home for the birth of his third child just one day after playing for England in their defeat to Belgium.
The midfielder will then head back to Russia to rejoin up with the squad after his wife has given birth.
Delph got his first start of the World Cup against Belgium, having been used as a substitute in the 6-1 thrashing of Panama.
The 28-year-old knew he would have to travel back at some point with his wife due to give birth mid-tournament, but had always insisted it was family first and praised Gareth Southgate's handling of the situation.
'She's tough, she's a Yorkshire lass so she'll deal with it,' Delph said in May.
He added: '[England manager] Gareth Southgate has been fantastic. There's nothing more important than family to me - family always comes first and always will.'
