Raul put on a man-of-the-match display to help Real Madrid Legends overcome Arsenal Legends at the Bernabeu.

The 40-year-old scored the goal of the game after just six minutes which saw Amancio’s men win the first of their two-legged series, with the two sides set to meet again in September at the Emirates.

The competitive contest saw the likes of Roberto Carlos, Luis Figo and Robert Pires grace the Bernabeu pitch again for charity as fans were treated to real quality from the two veteran sides.

Not long after the game got underway, Arsenal suffered an early blow as Sol Campbell pulled up after just five minutes with a hamstring injury.

After being replaced by Pascal Cygan, it proved his presence would be sorely missed as Raul broke the deadlock moments later with a superb header.

Former World Cup winner Roberto Carlos also played a vital part in the goal, with his accurate lobbed through ball the perfect height for Raul to guide his header over the helpless David Seaman.
The hosts began to turn on the style as they directed most of the play through Carlos on the left, much to the delight of the Bernabeu crowd.

Arsenal had a penalty shout waved away not long after Raul’s opener as Luis Boa Morte was body-checked inside the area.
It wasn’t long after that Arsenal got their goal as Robert Pires split the Real defence to put Boa Morte through one-on-one with Dudek, with the Portuguese forward calmly finishing to make it 1-1.
