Leicester City of England attacker, Ahmed Musa made the best of his visit to Sokoto to get royal blessings, as he teamed up with his host, fellow-Super Eagles star, Shehu Abdullahi, for a visit to the Sultan.
Musa, who shot back to reckoning with two well taken goals against Iceland at the World Cup in Russia, used the opportunity to present a replica of the Super Eagles’ flashy Russia 2018 jersey to the Sultan of Sokoto.

The visit came a day after Musa arrived in Sokoto for a charity football match organised by Shehu, after which they both made cash food items donation to orphanages.

It was also a week after Sokoto State governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal gave Shehu a house, plot of land and money for his charity and social development efforts through his foundation.

Shehu, an indigene of Sokoto, was one of the 23 players that represented Nigeria at the World Cup in Russia, in which he started the first match against Croatia.

The governor also assured the player of free sponsorship to attend hajj, the Muslim pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.

Shehu stated on behalf of both players: “This month of blessings continues. We had the honor of meeting the Sultan of Sokoto and receiving his prayers for us. It is our pleasure and privilege to present him with our jerseys. @ahmedmusa718 🙏🏿”
