As Mario Mandzukic headed into his own net to give France a 1-0 lead in the World Cup final, the president of the nation, Emmanuel Macron, celebrated the goal wildly in front of President Vladimir Putin, President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic and Gianni Infantino.

He leapt onto the balcony of the royal box in front of his fellow dignitaries, thoroughly enjoying his team's opening goal.

After the final whistle, Macron was celebrating once more and was allowed onto the pitch to embrace the victorious players and coach as France relished their second ever World Cup triumph.
