Super Eagles’ striker Brown Ideye is expected to head out on loan again from Chinese Super League outfit Tianjin Teda after returning from Malaga where he spent the second half of last season. Ideye, 29, joined Teda in February 2017 from Greek’s Olympiacos in a deal worth around £12 million but fell out with the coach a few months later and was subsequently confined to the reserves. He scored four times in 14 league matches for the Tianjin-based club.
However, with Teda wanting to recoup a chunk of the money spent to bring the player to China, it’s almost certain that only a loan deal will materialise at this point, with Ideye himself not yet decided on where he would be playing his football next season.
Having played in France, Ukraine, England, Greece and Spain, it remains to be seen if Ideye could consider an offer from Turkey or return to Spain where he played with Malaga before their relegation to the second division.
