Iwobi Determined To Adapt To Emery’s Style

Arsenal of England attacker, Alex Iwobi has disclosed that the tart which is top of his mind this summer is how to adapt to the style of his club’s new coach, Unai Emery, in order to retain a spot in The Gunners’ starting eleven.
Iwobi admitted that playing under a new coach in a top club comes with its challenges, but insists he is up to the task to cope and quickly settle down into the novel structure Emery has brought to Emirates Stadium.

Iwobi admitted he will miss Arsene Wenger, the French veteran tactician that gave him the breakthrough at Arsenal, but the Super Eagles star admitted it is time to concentrate on playing under a new manager and making an even bigger impression.

Arsenal’s search for Wenger’s successor led them to Emery, who was available after he left Paris Saint-Germain earlier this summer, following a trophy-laden 2017-18 campaign in the French capital.

Incidentally, Iwobi was just five months old when Wenger was appointed as Arsenal’s new manager in 1996, and he joined the Gunners’ youth academy at the age of six, while was still in primary school.

The former England youth international rose through the ranks at Arsenal to become a first-team starter under Wenger, but eventually chose to represent Nigeria at senior international level, mostly due to the influence of his uncle, Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha.

Iwobi stated “[Wenger] has been there for me since I joined the club and has been very inspirational and influential on my career, but I am excited having our new manager next season.

“I have been playing for Arsenal since I was six. The fact I am representing them now is like a dream come true. I am always proud to wear the Arsenal colours and long may it continue.”
