Jack Wilshere in on the verge of completing his move to West Ham after leaving Arsenal, according to reports.

The 26-year-old is available on a free transfer after his contract with the Gunners expired at the end of June.

Wilshere had expressed his desire to stay at Arsenal but opted to leave after holding talks with Unai Emery about the amount of playing time he would receive.

Fenerbahce were heavily linked with a move for Wilshere, but the midfielder is now closing on on a switch to West Ham.

The Guardian reports that Wilshere had his medical on Thursday and is set to sign a three-year contract after holding ‘productive’ talks with West Ham’s hierarchy.

The midfielder, who was left out of England’s World Cup squad, is set to become West Ham’s fourth summer signing.

Since Manuel Pellegrini was appointed as manager at the end of May, West Ham have signed Lukasz Fabianski, Ryan Fredericks and Issa Diop for a club-record £22 million.
