Liverpool new boy Xherdan Shaqiri meets Naby Keita, Virgil van Dijk and boss Jurgen Klopp after undergoing medical during first day at club
Liverpool have released behind-the-scenes footage of Xherdan Shaqiri enjoying his first day at the club after signing fromStoke.
The Switzerland international joined for £13million last week and he is now trying to adapt to his surroundings as quickly as possible ahead of the new Premier League season.

Liverpool followed Shaqiri every step of the way on his first day, from him packing up his stuff in his hotel room to meeting up withJurgen Klopp at the Melwood training base.

Part of the Liverpool new boy's thorough medical was to undergo an MRI scan as well
In the video, after leaving his hotel, Shaqiri underwent his medical, where the team took some blood before he had an MRI scan.
During the medical, a laid-back Shaqiri expressed his delight in signing for the Reds, admitting he has plenty of friends who support the club.

Following the completion of the medical, the 26-year-old headed off by car to Melwood to put pen to paper on his contract before meeting his new colleagues.

While in the car, Shaqiri admitted: 'I wanted to come four years ago, so I am really happy that I am here and I can't wait to start at this big club.

'The coach too was very important to me, I know him from Germany. Since he came here, he changed the football and the club is very familiar and that for me was very important.'

Once at Melwood, Shaqiri was greeted by the towering Virgil van Dijk and Georgino Wijnaldium before signing his contract.

He then enjoyed the customary transfer photoshoot prior to getting even more familiar with his new team-mates, including fellow new boy Naby Keita, Joe Gomez and Danny Ings.

And he left the most important person until last, his new manager Klopp. The former Stoke man posed for a series of photos with the German before the pair enjoyed a joke right at the end of his long day.

Shaqiri will be desperate to hit the ground running on Merseyside and will join up with the rest of his Liverpool team-mates when they jet off on their pre-season tour of America.
