Real Madrid are closing on a deal to sign Thibaut Courtois after having agreed terms with the Chelsea FC goalkeeper, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Mail is reporting that the Spanish giants are getting closer to confirming a deal to sign the shot-stopper this summer as they look to bring in reinforcements at the back.

Courtois’ situation at Chelsea FC has been a constant source of speculation this summer due to the fact that his current contract is due to expire at the end of next season and he has given no indication that he plans to sign a new deal.

The same story says that the Spanish giants are looking for a replacement for Keylor Navas and that they are also keeping tabs on Tottenham shot-stopper Hugo Lloris.

However, the article claims that Real Madrid’s top priority between the posts this summer is signing Courtois from Chelsea FC – and they have now finalised personal terms with the goalkeeper’s representatives.

The same story says that Madrid now need to negotiate a fee with Chelsea FC for the shot-stopper, but they have not made much progress on that front quite yet.
