FORMER Chelsea favourite Ramires has been banished to Jiansu Suning's reserve team after trying to force a move back to former club Benfica.
The midfielder was believed to have been desperate for a switch back to the Portuguese club and did everything in his power to push for a transfer.
Ramires, 31, joined the Chinese Super League side in January 2016 in an initial £20million deal.
But it appears he has grown tired of life in Asia and after hearing news Benfica were eyeing a reunion, Ramires planned to jump at the opportunity.
The deal was so close that the club even set a date for the Brazilian's arrival in Lisbon.
However the move backfired when Jiansu Suning activated a clause in his contract to extend his deal until January 2019.
The Brazilian caused a fuss and Jiansu Suning were so furious with the way he handled the failed transfer that he was banished to the reserve side.
And he ended up starring in a match against Tianjin Quanjian, scoring twice and assisting another in a 4-0 win.
Ramires won all five major trophies during his six years at Chelsea and has 52 caps for his country.
