IGP Ibrahim K. Idris, met with police officers and men on deployment for the Osun gubernatorial election. Addressing them,he said....
“Iam here to address you on the need to be vigilant and operationally effective before, during and after this Osun gubernatorial elections scheduled for Saturday. You must not be partisan, you must be fair to all and above all, have the fear of God as you set out for this exercise, which is the last before the general elections next year. Four police officers, along with other security operatives from sister agencies would man each polling unit. Therefore the success in every polling unit is dependent on the ability of the officers to do what is expected. It is therefore imperative for officers and men to be at their best. I have directed the payment of your allowances, which must be in your account between now and Friday, provided you have given the correct details of your account.”
