Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira has returned to training ahead of Sunday’s trip to Newcastle United, according to the Evening Standard.
The 22-year-old was withdrawn at half-time during Uruguay’s 4-1 win over Mexico. Torreira was pictured wearing an ice pack, however, he has now recovered ahead of this weekend’s Premier League fixture.
Ahead of the Gunners’ trip to Tyneside, Lucas Torreira is back at London Colney on Tuesday.
He trained with the likes of Mesut Ozil, Alexandre Lacazette and Hector Bellerin. It was feared that Torreira may have been a doubt for the game against Newcastle after picking up a knock on international duty.
However, even with the boost, Unai Emery is unlikely to pick the 22-year-old. The new manager has preferred the partnership of Matteo Guendouzi alongside Granit Xhaka.
