Liverpool confirms keita is fine, will face Manchester City at the weekend

Naby Keita will travel home with the rest of his Liverpool team-mates on Thursday morning and could even face Manchester City on Sunday. Keita went down unchallenged in the early stages of Wednesday's 1-0 defeat to Napoli before signalling to the bench that he would be unable to continue.

 The 23-year-old was stretchered off and taken to a local hospital in Naples for further tests, with Jordan Henderson thrown on in his place.

 "Keita was transferred to a local hospital with the club doctor, where - with the midfielder's agreement - he underwent a number of precautionary health checks to assess his condition," the Reds confirmed after the loss at Stadio San Paolo.

 There were initial concerns Keita faced a lengthy spell on the sidelines but the player has since been assessed and declared "fine" ahead of Sunday's visit from champions City. And Liverpool remain hopeful the midfielder can play a part against Pep Guardiola's men as they bid to continue an unbeaten start to the new Premier League campaign.
