Born (April 7, 1978) Ahmed Buhari a Businessman and Information and Communications Technology Consultant is ready to contest the 2019 elections for the position of President.
This marks a new dawn for the fourth republic as candidates over the years, have been in the age category of 50 to 70.
Ahmed is 40 years and hails from Kontagora, Niger State in the North-Central Nigeria.
Inspired by the political disruptions in France, Canada and Greece which witnessed the emergence of leaders under the age of 45, namely Emmanuel Macron, Justin Trudeau and Alexi Tsipras respectively, Ahmed Buhari believes that can happen in Nigeria.
He attended Mustapha Comprehensive School, Kontagora for his elementary education and Command Secondary School, Kaduna.
Ahmed lost his father in the year 1993, and had to play the role of pillar and support to his family at the young age of 15.
With determination and resilience, Ahmed Buhari studied at the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State where he obtained his B.SC degree in Geology.
After his mandatory Mandatory National Youth Service Corps(NYSC), Ahmed got a job with an indigenous oil and gas company in Lagos.
He took a study leave and proceeded to Cavendish College, London and bagged a Master’s Degree in International Trade and Marketing.
Ahmed Buhari furthered his Studies at the Manchester Metropolitan University and acquired training as a Geographic Information System and Spatial Analyst.
Upon his return to Nigeria, he worked as a Geologist on offshore installations with a team that efficiently produced a sizable number of barrels of crude oil for the country’s economy.
Buhari was in 2011 appointed a Senior Business Development Manager in a telecommunications company, in the country.
He ventured into the entrepreneurship space in 2012, and started his company Skylar Inc. a company solely focused on Information Technology(IT), Networking, Corporate Branding, and Business Consulting with staff strength then of over 50.
Skylar Inc. is to today ruthlessly driving the adoption of technology in Nigeria, equipping the next generation for the fourth industrial revolution, driven by digital technology.
Through his fond name “Ahmed Bee” he has established a foundation that is responsible for social activities that support educational development in Nigeria.
The foundation has a “Kids Can Code” Initiative which targets children in primary school, between the ages 5 to 12, ensuring that they are fully exposed to computer programming, software development, graphic designing, and hardware assembling.
It also provides frequent Hackathons that targets students mostly from tertiary institutions, and then gets them involved in the thinking process of how to proffer solutions to specific areas of the economy, through technology.
Some of the notable awards he has received so far include; Entrepreneurship Award from MTN Telecommunications Company, Award of Excellence from Association of Family Business Owners in Nigeria and an Award from Rome Business School, amongst others.
In contesting for the forthcoming 2019 Presidential elections, Ahmed Buhari is challenging the youth to actively participate in politics and leadership in the country.
He believes he has the unifying effect as a detribalized Nigerian, who is not biased to any religion or social affiliation.
Ahmed believes in a Nigeria where there is a reasonable striking balance between the rich and not so rich, where the greatest problems; tribalism and religion chauvinism are reduced to the barest minimal ever recorded in the history of the nation.
Ahmed Buhari is the Presidential Candidate of the Sustainable National Party(SNP). He defeated many others in the primaries to win the ticket.
He is married to Maryam Ahmed Buhari and they are blessed with three children.
