Federal government says it is doing everything within its power to ensure the safe return of Leah Sharibu, the Dapchi school girl still in Boko Haram captivity.

Leah and her classmates at the Government Girls' Science and Technical College (GGSTC), Dapchi, were abducted by the sect members in March 2018. 105 of them were released. Four died in captivity while the sect members refused to release Leah because she refused to denounce her Christian faith.

Speaking at the 100 years celebration of St. Andrews Catholic Church, Oro, his home town near Ilorin in Kwara State yesterday, Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, said

“Nigerians should appreciate that any of our citizens, either boy or girl, Moslem or Christian is dear to us. We do not look at Leah Sharibu either as Christian or Moslem, but as a precious daughter of the country. We are doing our best to ensure her safe release and be reunited with her family,” he said.
