Bad news for Manchester United, Three players ruled out of Arsenal game

Mourinho’s Manchester United drew 2-2 with Southampton on the south coast, falling 16 points behind leaders Manchester City.

And they go into a blockbuster clash with Arsenal on Wednesday night in poor form.

United have managed just one win in their last four games - against Young Boys in the Champions League.

And Mourinho has revealed he will be without at least three first team players on Wednesday and possibly another two.

“I don’t know,” when asked about team news for Arsenal.

“Victor Lindelof is an important injury. Alexis Sanchez is an important injury.

“Ashley Young is suspended. If Chris Smalling and Eric Bailly are ready - if they are ready to train tomorrow it wouldn’t be a surprise.”

Smalling and Bailly missed out on the squad today after suffering injuries.

Mourinho explained the situation before the match.

"I have only one centre-back,” he told BT Sport.

“I would like to have Nemanja Vidic but no Vidic only Nemanja Matic and he's a midfield player.

“Smalling has a pain in his foot so he is not available to play. Eric Bailly has a pain in his back so he is not available to play.

"Marcos Rojo trained yesterday for the first time with the group after a long absence and he is not ready to play.

“He's ready to help but he is not ready to start. Lindelof has an important injury so the only centre-back we have available to play is Phil (Jones)."
