In a move to wipe-out undue advantage when a penalty kick is missed , the Federation of International Football Associations(FIFA) is set to introduce a “no-rebound rule” in which players who miss penalty kicks are not permitted to have another strike at the ball if it bounces back to them from the goalie or post in the course of a match.
Players have been known to have another attempt after initial penalty misses when the ball fell back to them after the goalkeeper failed to save the kick properly . However, this is set to change as FIFA believes a missed penalty is a missed opportunity and that, the games should be restarted with a goal kick after a miss from the spot.
