Jennifer Lopez reacts to her engagement to Alex Rodriguez, says she's happy

Jennifer Lopez has finally shared her thoughts on Alex Rodriguez's surprise proposal made in the Bahamas over a week ago.

The 49-year-old beauty told People that they are in a state of bliss after he gave her a 16-carat diamond ring.

'We're really happy,' Lopez - who stars on TV's World Of Dance - said.

'We have [an] appreciation for where we are in our lives today, and that's what we're enjoying the most,' added Rodriguez.

This means they will be blending their families.

Rodriguez has two daughters - Natasha, 14, and Ella, 10 - with ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis. Lopez has twins Max and Emme, 11, with ex-husband Marc Anthony.

Alex proposed to his girlfriend of two years with an emerald cut ring, worth a reported $4.5 million.

'We're constantly supporting each other in our individual endeavors and thinking about all the things that we can build together,' Lopez said.

And Rodriguez said: 'We are very grateful.'
