After their first night in their Montreal hotel, Real Madrid took to the training pitches on Thursday as they began their preparations for the new season.

New fitness coach Gregory Dupont put Zinedine Zidane's squad through their paces in Canada.

The session started with some ball work as Gareth Bale worked with Sergio Ramos and Toni Kroos while Eden Hazard opted for the French crew of Karim Benzema, Ferland Mendy and Raphael Varane.

Luka Modric wasn't a part of the 24 outfield players that trained, while the four goalkeepers worked away from the main group.

After 10 minutes with the ball at their feet, the Real Madrid players put on their trainers and continued their fitness work.

The hot weather that had overseen the first couple of sessions was exchanged for rain and 20-degree temperatures in Quebec.

After an hour on the pitch, the squad went inside to do some work in the gym.
