Chelsea star Tammy Abraham has made his intentions clear that his passionate dream has always been to represent England and not Nigeria.

The 22-year-old striker of Nigerian origins was recently called up by England for the Euro 2020 qualifiers in the Czech Republic and Bulgaria taking place this month.

Tammy Abraham who was born in the UK to Nigerian parents is actually eligible to represent the senior national team of Nigeria despite representing England at verious levels which include Under 18, Under 19 and Under 21 levels.

However with his recent call-up to the England senior team, the young striker will no longer be able switch his allegiance to Nigeria if he plays for England in their upcoming matches.

Abraham has now come out to clear the air that his first choice option has always been to represent England and not Nigeria.

In a new interview on Mail Online Sport, he revealed saying,

'For me, it's always nice to be wanted by two nations. Clearly, it means you're doing something well.

' At the back of my head, I've always wanted to play for England. I was born and grown in England.'

My dream was always to play for England. It doesn't effect the fact Nigeria still wanted me, and it's a big nation. I love both nations.

My head was just screwed on with England.'I'm here and I'm ready to stay. I want to do the best I can.

That means playing well, for club and country.'Just hopefully I can get many years experience under my belt for England.'

Tammy Abraham was called alongside his Chelsea teammate Fikayo Tomori, who though born in Canada has Nigerian roots.
