Klopp confirms Van Dijk and Henderson FIT for huge clash with Manchester City

Jurgen Klopp has ended fears that Virgil van Dijk could miss Sunday's clash with title rivals Manchester City after confirming the defender is fit and ready to play.
Supporters were left concerned on Thursday when the £75million Holland star failed to train alongside his team-mates ahead of the biggest game of the season so far.

But Klopp has revealed that Van Dijk's absence was nothing to do with an injury after he returned to his homeland to have lunch with the Dutch Royal Family.

'Virg was for other reasons not here yesterday but is completely fine,' Klopp said during his pre-match conference.

Klopp also confirmed that Jordan Henderson is ready to face Pep Guardiola's men after illness during him out of Tuesday night's win over Genk.

However, Joel Matip, Xherdan Shaqiri and Nathaniel Clyne remain on the sidelines.

'Jordan is completely fine,' Klopp added.

'Joel [Matip] is still out, like Shaq and like Clyney. That's it, probably.'

Klopp also issued a rallying cry to his players - and everyone supporting Liverpool on Sunday at Anfield - as the Reds look to go nine points clear at the top.

'We have to play our best game. Everyone in the stadium has to be in top shape,' he said.

'The guys who sell the hot dogs have to be in the best shape! That’s what I wish for.

'Before we know if we get something from it, we invest everything.'
