Super Eagles Technical adviser Gernot Rohr has disclosed his reasons for keeping players substitutions late in games.
Speaking during Tuesday’s Press conference, the Franco-German tactician said the reasons for making late substitutions is for him to avoid mistakes.
“I always try to give the starting XI enough time to express themselves” Rohr said.
“I also have to be very sure that the player I want to take off has done all he can during his time on the field of play,”
Lastly, Rohr said he has to be wary of injuries to any of the players.
According to him,.. early substitutions can go a long way to affect his game plans.
The Super Eagles will be taking on the Benin Republic National team on Wednesday at the Nest of Champions, Uyo.
