Fabio Grosso sacked by Brescia less than a month after taking office

Brescia have officially sacked Fabio Grosso after three straight defeats without a single goal, recalling Eugenio Corini a month after his dismissal.

President Massimo Cellino was criticised for the original decision to fire Corini on November 3 and the fans staged a protest after Saturday’s 3-0 home defeat to local rivals Atalanta.

Grosso had only three games in charge of the Rondinelle, losing all three without scoring a single goal, but conceding 10.

It means that Brescia have now lost six Serie A matches in a row, managing one point from the last nine rounds.

Corini returns to the Stadio Rigamonti bench to lead the team he had taken to promotion last season.

He had originally been appointed in September 2018, several weeks into the campaign, and went on to win the Serie B title.

The 49-year-old has 44 competitive games as Brescia coach, resulting in 20 wins, 12 draws and 12 defeats.
