Isaac Success Club, Watford Confirms 2 Players Have Tested Positive For Covid-19

This isn't too good for Watford fans. 

It's been reported by Complete Sports that a player and two staff have tested positive for coronavirus at Watford. 

The English Premier League side made the revelation via their social media platform on Wednesday afternoon. 


Recall that yesterday, Dailymail.co.uk reported that six persons tested positive for the coronavirus following the tests that were carried out on Monday. Although the reports didn't reveal whether those who tested positive were players or staff of any club in the Premier League. 

Watford made the announcement in a statement released on their official website.

These fresh cases were confirmed following testing that were carried out on Monday.



The statement from the club read: “Watford Football Club confirms that three people have tested positive for the Covid-19 virus following testing at the training ground over the past 48 hours.

“Of those three positive tests, one is a player and two are members of staff. All three have asked that medical confidentiality be respected and, therefore, the club will not be naming those involved.

“All three will now self-isolate for seven days – in line with the protocols set out in Premier League guidelines – before being tested again at a later date.

Watford have a Nigerian, Isaac Success, who joined on a five-year deal for a fee of around £12.5 million from Granada. 



The Statement: “Strict adherence to the Premier League guidelines has ensured the training ground remains virus-free and a safe environment for the players to continue to work. The club will continue to liaise closely with the affected personnel and there will be no further comment.”

Success scored once in 19 appearances in for Watford in the 2016-17 season. 

He made one appearance in 2017-18 was loaned to Malaga 2018. He has made nine League appearances for La Liga side but yet to score a goal.
