Earlier today, Arsenal confirmed that Freddie Ljungberg has left his role as first team coach.

The former Arsenal star replaced Unai Emery as care taker following the sack of Emery last year.

He took charge of some few games in January until Mikel Arteta was eventually appointed as head coach.

Although, Mikel Arteta retained Ljungberg as his part of back room staff but appears that Ljungberg as decided to step aside.


Apparently, Bukayo Saka was quick to point out the role Ljungberg played in his development in the club's rank.


Saka who recently inked a long term deal is expected to wear jersey no 7 next season was handed game time under Ljungberg following injuries to Kieran Tierney and Sead Kolasinac.

The 18 years old expressed his gratefulness to Ljungberg following the opportunity he was given to shine in the eyes of fans at the Emirates.
Saka tweeted: "You did so much for me and for our club ! Forever grateful 🙏🏿❤️ Legend 👑"
