Arsenal promote Mikel Arteta to become their first team manager after first 7 months in charge as coach

Arsenal’s coach, has been given a new title after he past seven months with the club. The board has decided to reward Mikel due to his performance and how things have turned around.


Recall that Unai Emery was sacked last years December after the club were in the second half of the table and results weren't forthcoming. 

The Gunners continued to drop points and there was players unrest in the dressing room.

The decision was made and the former Sevilla and PSG boss was shown the exit door. 

Mikel Arteta who once played and captained Arsenal came back to the set up and turned things around. 

The former Everton star guided the club to finish eight position and picked up a spot in the Europa League for next season after winning the FA Cup. 

Last month, the Arsenal won their first silverware of the 2020-21 season with a victory against Liverpool in the Community Shield.
It's been gathered that Mikel Arteta's job title has changed from head coach to first-team manager. This means that he has been given more control in the technical aspect of the Arsenal's first team. 

Arsenal begin their 2020-21 season with away trip to Fulham on September 12th 2020.
