Cristiano Ronaldo has enjoyed another stellar season in the just ended 2019-20 campaign for his club.

The former Real Madrid star finished the Serie A season with the Scudetto as he guided Juventus to clinch the title ahead of competitors such as Inter Milan, Lazio and Napoli.

Ronaldo finished behind top scorer Ciro Immobile in scoring chat but was named MVP award winner for Juventus.

The Portuguese is set to take the form into his national team ahead of their UEFA Nations League title defense.

Recall that Portugal won the trophy after victory against Netherlands in the final last year.

Portugal is set for a Nations League double-header against Croatia and Sweden.

According to Mail Online, Ronaldo is set to miss both games, this comes after he suffered an infection likened to that of a bee sting.

Portugal boss Fernando Santos has confirmed that their captain and star player will be unavailable for the games.
Speaking to reporters, Santos said: 'I am very doubtful that he will be 100 per cent OK.

'He had been training well, then suddenly on Wednesday one of his toes was red, as if he'd been stung by a bee.'

It's been reported that Ronaldo picked up an infection on his right toe.

He added: 'Now we have to wait. With an infection, you don't know how long the recovery is going to take.'

Ronaldo has been targeting a century of goals for Portugal after he has been stuck on 99 goals for 10 months due to coronavirus pandemic.
