Robin Quaison (1. FSV Mainz 05) header from very close range to the centre of the goal gave the home side the lead. He was assisted ed by Jean-Philippe Mateta with a headed pass.
But Stuttgart grabbed the leveler when Silas Wamangituka (VfB Stuttgart) right footed shot from the right side of the box to the bottom left corner made it 1-1. He was assisted ted by Gonzalo Castro following a fast break.
Mateo Klimowicz (VfB Stuttgart) scored the third goal. It was a left footed shot from the centre of the box to the centre of the goal. Assisted by Silas Wamangituka following a fast break.
The visitors further extended the advantage, Sasa Kalajdzic (VfB Stuttgart) right footed shot from the centre of the box to the bottom left corner made it 4-1.
