Donny Van Beek makes Man Utd debut in a 1-0 against Aston Villa in pre season friendly

Manchester United are yet to begin their campaign due to their participation in Europe, they have been given a week extension. This means that Manchester United will play their first game against Crystal Palace next week.

Although, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took advantage to play a pre season friendly against Aston Villa.

It was aimed to keep players fit ahead of the 2020-2021 season as United players were just returning to camp following the international duty.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer handed a debut to his new signing in Donny Van Beek and Dean Henderson who recently inked a new contract extension after spending last season on loan at Sheffield United.

Fringe players such as Dalot, Jesse Lingard, Daniel James and Fosu Mensah were given a chance to show case their talent as the face competition in their positions in the team.

Nigerian striker, Jude Odion Ighalo lead the attack along with Marcus Rashford as Martial was rested along with Bruno Fernandes.

Paul Pogba recently recovered from coronavirus, and he was also rested.

Harry Maguire returned to the team after his police case in Greece during his holiday which also saw him miss England UEFA Nations League games.

Manchester United lost 1-0 to Aston Villa at the end of 90 minutes. Ollie Watkins scored the winner for Villa in the 16th minutes as Dean Smith side held on till the end of the game.
