Manchester City began the 2020-21 season in the Premier League with a win against Wolverhampton.

Pep Guardiola side took the lead at Molineux Stadium on Monday night when Kevin De Bruyne scored from the penalty spot.

Two more goals came from Manchester City before Raul Jimenez scored a consolation goal for Wolverhampton.

Pep Guardiola have signed Ferran Torres and Nathan Ake so far in the transfer window.

Kevin De Bruyne has said that his side will miss David Silva. Recall that Silva returned to Spain after 10 years to join Real Sociedad as a free agent.

“Whoever plays in place of David will do their thing,” the Belgian said.

He added that some City can cope with the absence of the Spainsh talisman. Manchester City have likes of Phil Foden, Riyad Mahrez and Bernardo Silva in the creative department.

De Bruyne said: “Everyone has to play with their own quality. David is the master of tight spaces, but in Phil [Foden], Bernardo [Silva], Riyad [Mahrez] and Raheem [Sterling], we have players who can do the job. But obviously he is a big miss.

“We have so many attacking players, I can slot them in and they can do the rest depending on the formation of our opponents.”

Manchester City will face Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup on Thursday.

Manchester City are expected to also be without their star forward, Sergio Aguero. The Argentine has been ruled out for another two months.

He missed Manchester City remaining round of 16 second leg againsy Real Madrid and quarter final clash against Lyon due to knee injury.

Aguero has since undegone a surgey on the knee and he's currently recuperating.
