Mikel Arteta made changes to the side with Eddie Nketiah and Alexander Lacazette in the attack, Thomas Partey was handed his first start and partnered Mohammed Elneny in the midfield.
But Bernd Leno made and error to give the Austria side the lead after the hour mark. Arsenal responded with two changes ó Hector Bellerin and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang coming in the game.
David Luiz made it 1-1 shortly before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the winner from an assist from Bellerin.
