Mikel Arteta realsed the Premier League 25 man squad for the 2020-21 season and surprisingly Mesut Ozil name was Excluded along with Sokratis and William Saliba.
Ozil who is Arsenal's highest paid player with 350,000 per week and their most creative player was a surprise to be omitted from the list.
Although, the manager has continued to insist that the reason for Mesut absence from the team was down to tactical reasons.
Apparently, Arsenal's number one goalkeeper, Bernd Leno believes the former Real Madrid star is still a member of the team.
"Mesut is still a part of the team and trains with us," Leno told BILD .
"He is absolutely professional, both on the pitch and in the dressing room."
According to media outlets in England, Ozil's seven-year stay at Arsenal might be coming to an end come 2021,with the club looking like they won't hand him an extension once his current deal expires.
But Leno admitted that it's disappointing that the German hasn't been playing for Arsenal. Mesut Ozil last played for Arsenal against West Ham back in March.
Leno added:"Obviously it's a disappointing situation for him, but Mesut handles it well and is absolutely loyal."
