"I am very happy and honoured to become Paris Saint-Germain's new coach," Pochettino says

Mauricio Pochettino has been officially presented as their new coach of Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday.

The former Tottenham Hotspur tactician has expressed his excitement after being named coach of the reigning Ligue 1 champions.

"I am very happy and honoured to become Paris Saint-Germain's new coach," Pochettino told PSG's official website.

"I thank the club officials for the trust they have placed in me. As you know, this club have always held a special place in my heart. I have wonderful memories, especially the unique atmosphere of the Parc des Princes.

"At the same time, I look forward to working with some of the most talented players in the world. This team has fantastic potential and I will do my best with my staff to get the best results in all competitions.

"We will also do our best to give our team that fighting and attacking football identity that Parisian fans have always loved."

Meanwhile, PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi has stated that he believes that Pochettino's comeback, after his spell as player, will give great joy to the club's fans.

"I am proud that our former captain returns to Paris Saint-Germain, because the club have always been his home," said Al Khelaifi.

"Mauricio Pochettino's return fits perfectly with our ambitions and will mark one more chapter for the club that I am sure will make our fans enjoy."
