The appears that the Bundesliga giants have moved to solidify their defense with the arrival of experience RB Leipzig defender.
Earlier today, Bayern Munich have agreed to sign Dayot Upamecano from 1st July 2021 following a statement posted on their official twitter handle.
The 22-year-old French central defender Dayot Upamecano has been linked with a move away from the Red Bull Arena with European clubs such as Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain all interested on his signature.
But it seems Bayern have already formally announced him as a Bayern Munich player.
Bayern Munich will sign Upamecano in July after they reportedly activated his c €40m release clause from RB Leipzig.
Bayern Sporting Director Hasan Salihamidžić reacted to the deal saying:
“We’re happy that we’ve been able to sign Dayot Upamecano for FC Bayern München. We’re convinced that Dayot will be a very important member of our team in the coming years.”
It's been gathered that Upamecano has signed a contract until June 2026 with the Bavarian giants.
Bavarians coach Hansi Flick has, also expressed delight of signing the young defender.
On new signing Dayot Upamecano, Flick said: "I'm pleased we've managed to sign Dayot. But our task is to perform right now, and the same goes for Dayot at Leipzig. But that's how I've got to know him"
