Arsenal overcame their North London rival in a 2-1 victory at the Emirates stadium on Sunday evening.

The game lived up to its expectations, with some stunning goals and controversial moments.

Mikel Arteta surprised fans when he didn't name his captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the starting XI.
The striker was seen on the bench wearing his nose mask all through, meanwhile, Arteta revealed he benched him due to disciplinary issues.

It was Jose Mourinho Spurs side that took the lead when Erik Lamela who had replaced Heung Mi Son who was injured scored a rabona goal in the 32nd minutes.

Just before the half time break, Arsenal struck back to level after Kieran Tierney who had been lively on the left flank cut back was connected to by the left foot of Martin Odegaard to make it 1-1.

From then, Arsenal looked like they wanted it more. The Gunners got a penalty from a challenge by Davison Sanches on Alexandre Lacazette who scored the goal.

Later, Spurs were reduced to ten as Lamela was sent off for his second yellow and the Gunners held on to claim victory.
After the game, the Athletic revealed Aubameyang was punished because he arrived late for pre match training.

According to reports, Arsenal players were asked to make their own way to the Emirates on Sunday due to coronavirus protocols but the former Dortmund star came late and this wasn't accepted by Arteta.
After full time at the Emirates stadium, he was heading into his Ferrari 23 minutes after the full-time whistle.

He didn't even join his team mates in celebration in the dressing room.
