The Gunners lost 3-0 to Liverpool at the Emirates stadium on Saturday night, with David Luiz part of the three players that missed the game.
Mikel Arteta was without Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith-Rowe, and David Luiz. The Gunners injury list was extended as Kieran Tierney was substituted in the first half of the game.
It's been gathered that Luiz is struggling with a knee problem which kept him out of the Liverpool game.
Earlier today, it's been reported that the Brazilian has undergone a medical treatment and it was successful. He is now expected to spend some days recuperating.
Arsenal's manager, Mikel Arteta had expressed scare of Luiz undergoing a surgery but it looks that there is no need for surgery.
The official statement from Arsenal reads:
"David Luiz underwent a small procedure on his right knee on Sunday morning.
The procedure has been a success and David is now back at home rehabilitating. He will be able to return to daily support and recovery with our medical team at the training centre in the coming days."
Arsenal will return to the Europa League on Thursday night when they host Slavia Praha in the quarter-final.
Although, David Luiz isn't expected to be available for the game as it might come too early for him.
The statement added:" David is expected to be back to full fitness and available for selection in the upcoming weeks."
