Real Madrid and Barcelona put pride aside to congratulate Atletico Madrid for winning the 2020-21 La Liga title

Atletico Madrid have been crowned Champions of the La Liga title following their 2-1 win against Real Valladolid who have been relegated.

Luis Suarez scored the winner for Atletico Madrid who went down to a goal in the first half.

But Correa scored the equaliser before the former Liverpool star found the back of the net after 66 minutes.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid finished second place after their 2-1 win against Villarreal. The Los Blancos were trailing leaders Atletico by two points and needed Diego Simeone side to drop points.

Madrid went behind in the first half after Pino scored but two quick goals from Karim Benzema and Luka Modric sealed the victory.

Real Madrid went ahead to congratulate their city rival Atletico with a tweet after the game.

In other result, Barcelona defeated Eibar after Antoine Griezmann scored the only goal of the game. 

  Also Barcelona also dropped their congratulatory message to the Champions.
