Gianluigi Donnarumma has been named the player of the tournament. The Italy's goalkeeper saved three penalties in the final against England.

Italy have defeated England in the final of the UEFA European Championship after 120 minutes.
The Azzurri came from behind to draw the game to extra time after Leonardo Bonucci had scored the equaliser in the 66th minutes to cancel Luke Shaw's opener in the 2nd minutes.

England's hopes of ending a 55-year wait for a major trophy were crushed in heartbreaking fashion as they lost 3-2 on penalties to Italy in the final of Euro 2020 at Wembley.


Pickford made two big saves to keep the hopes alive for his team in the shootout, but Rashford hit the post and Donnarumma made big saves to keep out both Sancho and Saka which won the game for his side.

Recall that Donnarumma also saved three penalties for Italy in their semi final game against Spain.
The goalkeeper who is on the verge of joining Paris Saint-Germain after he left AC Milan as a free agent became the goalie to win the award at the competition.
