Legendary Yoruba actor Oga Bello has lost his mother

Veteran movie star has gotten a lot of reaction from his fans following the sad passing away of his dear mother. 

Adebayo Salami popularly known as "Oga Bello", is a veteran Nigerian actor, filmmaker, movie producer and director. The movie star was born on 9 May 1953 (age 68 years) in Lagos, Nigeria. 

Adebayo Salami is a prominent figure in the Yoruba movie industry. He came into the spotlight in 1964 when he made his debut in comic series along with late actor "Baba Sala." Adebayo Salami has featured in over 100 movies and directed over 50 Yoruba movies. 

On Tuesday (August 3rd 2021), Adebayo Salami got his fans attention when he announced the death of his mother. The 68 years old took to his verified Instagram page (@adebayo.salami) to share the sad news to his followers. 

In his caption, he described her with some "emotional words" as he revealed that she has been buried according to Islamic rites in his home town in Ilorin, Osun State. 

Adebayo Salami shared throwback image of his mother who referred to as "Maami Ayoka" spotting white traditional outfit. 


He captioned: "No child ever prays to see his mother depart. My mother, my first teacher. My mother my food bank. My mother, my Jewel. Seeing your body being laid to rest brings out a deeply emotional part of me I never knew existed. If tears and prayers could bring you back, we won’t hesitate to go extra miles to make it happen. Maami Ayoka, you left at a very “tender” age. You lived well You made life tremendously worth living. Oh Allah, bless the soul of my mother. Oh Allah, forgive the sins of my mother. Oh Allah,grant my mother aljanah Firdaos."
