Pochettino miss out from his first trophy of the season after Lille defeat PSG to claim Trophee des Champions (Highlights) 2021-2022

Paris Saint-Germain have lost their first trophy of the season following defeat against Lille in the Trophee des Champions.

Lille have lifted the trophy for the first time in their history with a resilient defensive showing at the Bloomfield Stadium in Tel Aviv on Sunday night. 

Recall that Lille ended PSG dominance in the Ligue 1 after they clinched League titleast season. While Mauricio Pochettino side won the Coupe de France. 

Paris Saint-Germain fell behind a minute before the interval when midfielder Xeka fired a rocket shot from the edge of the penalty area.

Georginio Wijnaldum was brought on for his debut and played in an advanced midfield role as PSG tried all they could to find and equaliser but Lille held on till the end of 90 minutes.

Paris Saint-Germain were without Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Marco Verratti who are currently on holiday due to their participation in international football competition.
