Everton didn't create anywhere near enough in the way of chances to truly trouble the home side, who held on for their first victory at the Brentford Community Stadium.
Brentford's first win in six sends them rocketing up the table into twelfth, and seven points above the relegation zone. In the process, they leapfrog 14th-placed Everton, who are now winless in their last seven games.
